Tierlach is Gaelic for "Charlie". MV Tierlach was built in 1980. Her hull is one of nine hulls intended for salmon trollers. She was finished as a liveaboard by Charlie Salt, a well known character on the BC coast. The boat spent her first 18 years on the north island and cruised and fished as far as Bella Coola. Tierlach's current owner bought her in 2008 and has made extensive upgrades over the years.
